As the third step in the 2030 Agenda journey, now is an opportune time to review Africa's current progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and assess what adjustments the strategy needs to make to overcome remaining obstacles to success. The SDGs provide time-bound targets in key sectors including health, education, employment, energy, infrastructure and the environment that all countries can achieve. The need to achieve these goals is greater than in Africa. While progress in some sectors and countries is encouraging, the region as a whole needs to redouble its efforts to achieve CIS by 2030. Success requires effective and coordinated partnerships to achieve CSI. The objective of the African Sustainable Development Fellowship is to facilitate and mutually reinforce integrated learning on the implementation of the SDGs and AU Agenda 2063.
